When to harvest

Harvesting your cannabis plants at the right time is crucial for achieving the best quality and potency. Generally, the optimal time to harvest is when the trichomes—tiny, crystal-like structures on the surface of the buds—shift from clear to a milky white color, with some turning amber. This color change indicates peak THC levels and optimal cannabinoid profile.

Additionally, observing the pistils, or hair-like structures, can provide further clues; when about 70-90% of the pistils change from white to a reddish-brown color, it's often a sign that the plant is ready. Factors such as strain characteristics and personal preference for effects (more uplifting or more sedative) also play a role in deciding the harvest time. Careful timing ensures that you capture the plant’s full therapeutic and recreational potential.
